Are they comfortable?

I like the design of AirPods, this is a beautiful thing, but I cannot use them: the headphones do not hold in my ears at all and fall out. Therefore, the news of the appearance of AirPods Pro of the usual “plug” format I met with great joy: indeed, there are no questions about the fit in the ears now. Comfortable, good and tight fit, do not fall out, even if you actively shake your head.

Is the noisemaker cool?

I must say right away that if you want the maximum effect, then look in the direction of large on-ear headphones, the same Bose NCH 700. But by the standards of small vacuum headphones, AirPods Pro relieve the annoying rumble perfectly. You can watch videos and listen to music without turning the volume to maximum.

It is comfortable with them in the office, it becomes quieter and calmer, the system for absorbing extraneous sounds is not worse than in similar Sony headphones.

What’s the sound?

I listened to AirPods Pro in conjunction with the iPhone XS. I’m not a particularly ardent fan of any FLACs and other tracks in perfect quality: I listen to music via Spotify or Yandex.Music via Bluetooth – in short, I’m an ordinary user.

The sound of AirPods Pro reminded me of regular AirPods. Therefore, if you like the way the AirPods play, then the AirPods Pro will not disappoint, there is even more bass – thanks to a more comfortable fit. But if the sound of AirPods is not inspiring, then it is better to look towards other models.

When criticizing, it is better to name an alternative, but this is a problem, because the choice of wireless noise canceling headphones is not very large, and there are no ideal models.

What color are the headphones?

There were rumors that AirPods Pro will appear in different colors: there will be not only white, but also black, and maybe something brighter to match the new iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. But so far, no innovations: only the white version is available. So if you need a bright case, contact a tuning workshop for gadgets.

Can you swim in them?

I saw an interesting question related to the use of Apple AirPods Pro headphones: what happens if you use them in the pool? To begin with, the earbuds have received IPX4 sweat and splash protection. That is, during training, jogging or walking in a light rain, nothing will happen to them.

In theory, you can slowly swim in the pool with headphones, but … But how do you imagine it? Let’s say you go down a ladder into the water, then you pull your hands to the case with AirPods Pro, which lies nearby, you open it … And then someone floats by and splashes a wave. Or jumps and also splashes water. Plus, keep in mind that the earbuds have a slippery body, and it won’t be so easy to hold them with wet fingers.

In short, theoretically, you can also use headphones in the pool – for example, if you have your own country house or penthouse, where you can relax in peace and quiet. Although somehow too many “but” turns out.

What if lost?

If you lost your earpiece, then replacing it will cost $ 89. Replacing a lost cover with a new one costs the same. If translated into rubles, it turns out about 5700 rubles.

You can also replace the attachment or, to put it more correctly, the “ear cushion”, in America a new pair will cost $ 4.

How are you doing with the opening hours?

AirPods and AirPods Pro have the same performance: the Pro version from the included case with built-in charging will work for 24 hours. Naturally, with the condition of additional recharging of the headphones during the day. Compared to AirPods, they last a little less: 4,5 hours versus 5. But I don’t think this can be called a significant disadvantage. Moreover, fast charging works: after five minutes of charging in a case, the headphones will work for an hour.

By the way, the set with AirPods Pro now comes with a USB Type-C to Lightning cable, instead of the old USB-A to Lightning. A convenient and useful addition.

Moreover, if AirPods are sold both with a case with support for wireless charging, and with a regular case, then AirPods Pro with only one version. Of course, with support for wireless charging, you can use Qi-charging for this.

How much do they cost and where to buy cheaper?

In America they sell for $ 250, but that is the price excluding taxes. You arrive, for example, in New York, go to the local Apple Store, just the famous “cube” recently opened after renovation. And there you see the price in the check, taking into account the local tax of 8,9%. It’s a trifle, but it’s money. Yes, there are states where there is no tax, and in theory, headphones can be ordered that way, saving money.

In Europe, AirPods Pro are already asking for 279 euros. And in Russia, AirPods Pro cost 20 rubles. Now I can already foresee the cries “again in Russia everything is expensive and the greedy Apple makes billions on us”, but wait a minute.

Russia works according to the price list for Europe. Plus we have 20% VAT. So count it: 279 + 56 = 335 euros. We translate into rubles. It turns out almost 23 rubles at the time of writing. Why do we have such duties and such prices? All questions to the officials.

Like all long-awaited Apple devices, headphones are in high demand. Firstly, this year, and next year too, noise cancellation will become one of the main features of TWS headphones. Secondly, the New Year and Christmas seasons are ahead, and as a gift, this is just a wonderful thing.

So it is not worth waiting for a sharp drop in prices in Russia, judging by the experience of last year, when prices for AirPods soared up before the New Year, the situation will repeat itself this season. In general, if you want headphones, grab it now.

If we regard the AirPods as a headset first of all, and AirPods Pro as its advanced version, then there are no questions. Now the headphones do not fall out of my ears – at least for me. Noise cancellation has appeared, but what else is needed for happiness?

I really like that the headphones can be quickly connected to another Apple device: I come to work, sat down at the iMac, pressed a button, the headphones work with it. I took an iPad at home or sat down at a MacBook, again, a couple of clicks – and everything works. It seems elementary, but my favorite Sony WI-1000x first needs to be disconnected from the “main” device, and then connected to a new one. Little things, yes, but convenience and habits are built from such little things.

Plus a small charging case, compact size, very good voice transmission. I’m not really a fan of headset conversations, but the AirPods Pro have come to my liking.

I also liked the noise isolation, it works perfectly and completely muffles any sounds in the office. It remains only to follow the emotions on the faces of people, trying to understand the essence of the conversation at the next table.

Moreover, it is not necessary to turn on the most powerful mode, there is also an intermediate option, when, for example, you can hear the clicking of buttons when typing on the keyboard. It is interesting, of course, the situation with the street: you can hear the wheels of cars, and the general hum dies down. If you run, you will like it very much, there is no feeling of complete isolation in space. Again, you can turn on the noise reduction at full strength and withdraw into yourself – here you like it.

Should I take it or not?

You look at the comments, where people complain about the price and swear that the headphones are prohibitively expensive. Like “you praise things that cost unrealistic money.” They wrote the same thing when we reviewed the first AirPods. Only on the street, or on the subway, or in the gym, or on an airplane – people are everywhere with these very AirPods.

The headphones have sold in the millions and are breaking records, so whether you like it or not, there will be new advances for Apple with the AirPods Pro.
