Former Yota CEO Arrival to Launch Electric Van on Public Roads in Summer

British start-up company Arrival, founded by former Yota chief and former deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Denis Sverdlov, announced that it will bring its electric vans to public roads in the summer, starting public trials with key customers. She also shared additional information, images and videos.

Arrival is confident that it has set a new standard for commercial vehicles by creating an all-electric van that surpasses both payload (1975kg) and capacity (2,4m3 per meter) comparable fossil fuel vehicles. What’s more, her van has a significantly lower total cost of ownership.

The machine has been designed in close collaboration with drivers and trucking operators to maximize functionality for real world use. The vehicle can also offer enhanced connectivity and convenience for drivers, and for operators, advanced data management and fleet optimization tools.

Arrival software is able to monitor health in real time and predict the need for maintenance to reduce downtime. Components can also be updated over time in both hardware and software. The full characteristics of the van in standard size H3L3 (height – 3,45 m, length – 5,79 m) look like this:

The modular battery capacity ranges from 44 kWh to 133 kWh, so operators can choose the configuration that best suits their range requirements, further reducing costs and increasing efficiency. The lightweight aluminum frame and signature composite body reduce vehicle weight for extended range on a single charge, reduce the frequency and cost of repairs, and extend the life of the van.

The Arrival van is designed for use by drivers on a day-to-day basis and is therefore designed for a new level of comfort for commercial vehicles: heated seats, independent front and rear suspension, full climate control of the cabin, 15,6-inch touchscreen display for convenient display of all assembled vehicles. by car data.

In addition, the manufacturer promises high safety standards for drivers and road users. We are talking about electronic mirrors, 360-degree all-round visibility, advanced emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, road sign recognition and lane keeping assist.

The full launch of the van is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2022. Arrival expects commercial fleets to move to electric vehicles even faster than retail customers, as commercial fleets are well aware of their vehicle requirements, can leverage depot charging infrastructure, and are focused on reducing transportation costs.
