We are talking about the final stage of the development of Project Latte – a system that helps developers “repackage” their mobile applications in the form of standard Windows Store applications. According to Windows Latest, the first working version of the project will be available in the second half of 2021, although so far only in the form of a preview.
Note that Project Latte is based on another breakthrough Microsoft development – Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). This is a kind of layer that allows you to run Linux directly from Windows, without having to switch to a second operating system.
Given that Android is also based on Linux, it’s not hard to see how Microsoft has been able to easily “repackage” Android apps for Windows 10.
