Social network Parler has again filed a lawsuit against Amazon. This time, the company accused the hosting owner of trying to destroy the business and demanded damages. Writes about it Reuters.
The company has demanded a new trial in state court. This happened after she withdrew the antitrust lawsuit from the district court. The reasons for this decision are unknown.
The claim includes reimbursement of losses incurred by the platform as a result of the change of hosting. The company is said to have lost tens of millions of users and hundreds of millions of dollars in ad revenue because of this. The social network also accused Amazon of non-competitive behavior, saying it was disconnected from the servers in the interests of a new client in the person of Twitter.
Amazon called Parler’s new claims groundless, stressing that they provide their services to clients across the political spectrum.
The conflict between the parties began in early January, when Amazon denied hosting services to Parler. The reason was the posting of aggressive content and calls to violence, which violated AWS rules. In response, the social network filed a lawsuit demanding to resume the service and restore the service. The judge dismissed Parler’s claims, calling the charges shaky.
The social network resumed its work more than a month later. The company now uses SkySilk hosting services. Platform users have lost all photos and message history. The company probably did not have time to back up the data.
