Scott Herkelman, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of AMD Graphics, confirmed two important features of the PC version of Resident Evil Village as part of the presentation of the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card.
As it became known, the upcoming Capcom horror will receive support for ray tracing on the PC and AMD FidelityFX – a set of AMD tools for improving image quality.
According to Herkelman, thanks to the mentioned features, the PC version of Resident Evil Village “Demonstrates the limits of what is possible with ultra-realistic graphics based on the RE Engine.”

The fact that Resident Evil Village is capable of ray tracing has been known since the release of the Maiden demo on PS5. As noted by experts from Digital Foundry, on the Sony console, the effect is weak, and the resolution of reflections is not too high.
The release of Resident Evil Village is expected on May 7 this year for PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. The collection of pre-orders started shortly after the announcement of the release date.
