This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Metro Andrei Kichigin. According to him, Face Pay will appear before the end of 2021 at all metro stations. The system will be installed at turnstiles and cash desks.

Face Pay testing has already begun. It is reported that the participants in the tests passed through the turnstiles 2000 times, paying the fare with a person.

To use Face Pay, you just need to go to the camera, and it counts and recognizes the passenger’s face. If the bank has his biometric data, the money will be debited from the card, and the turnstile will automatically open. This should work even if the person is wearing a medical mask.
