After Apple introduced the new iPhone SE, I made a selection of Android models. The bottom line was: to find a small phone with a powerful filling. Here’s what happened:

Now I want to look at the question from the other side and select the models according to the price criterion. Let’s say you have 40 rubles or so, on the one hand, the new iPhone SE beckons, on the other – your eyes run up from the variety and offers of competitors. Whatever one may say, but the iPhone SE by the standards of 000 does not look very cool: small screen, small battery, maybe choose something else?

Apple iPhone XR

The iPhone XR is nowhere to be found – the 2019 hit continues to sell well in 2020. The phone, in my opinion, looks more interesting in almost all respects than the iPhone SE: a bigger screen, a bigger battery, Face ID instead of a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, unless the processor is new. With a budget of 40 rubles, it will be problematic to find an iPhone XR with an official guarantee, you will have to add money. But if it doesn’t matter to you whether it’s growth or not, then definitely keep within the announced amount.

Not as cool as in the P30 Pro, but the Pro version also costs other money, so the balance of price and characteristics of the Huawei P30 turned out to be good.

It’s a pleasure to use it, very few people can boast of such lightning-fast response on Android, everything flies. I would also like to note the pleasantly tuned vibration feedback, the feeling is almost like on the Google Pixel. Other advantages include a huge screen with support for 90 Hz, good cameras, very fast charging included, NFC support and stereo speakers. If you are not very worried about the quality of photos and videos, the camera is rather weak here, then you should take a closer look at the phone.

It is a pity that the extravagant idea with a camera was abandoned this year, but you can still buy a model of the last generation, especially since it still looks very dignified to this day.

In addition to the interesting appearance, OPPO Reno 2 also differs in other parameters: it works for a long time, quickly charges, performance is at a very good level. Not a top model, but a very advanced middle class.

I added this phone to the selection, because for that kind of money, there is no better option for those who like to draw. Traditionally, the S Pen stylus is included with Note series smartphones, and the Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite is no exception. If you look at the rest of the characteristics, we get a huge screen, a processor like that of the far from new Note9, a plastic case – yes, there are enough compromises, but if the soul asks for a pen for drawing, then this is the best offer for creative people at this price.

A simplified version of the former flagship is also a good candidate to study. Compared to the “simple” Galaxy S10, there is less RAM and lower screen resolution, no protection against water, wireless charging, stereo speakers, a camera without optical stabilization and optical zoom.

But the advantages are a huge screen, a battery of increased capacity and a more attractive price. Samsung decided that the market needed a “lightweight” version of the top model – the idea, judging by the responses of users, turned out to be successful.

So far, the new iPhone SE is a completely fresh model, and in the text I mainly cite devices of past generations as an example. But this is the market: newbies always have to compete with older devices that are sold at discounted prices.

The main thing is that for the money that is now being asked for the iPhone SE, you can easily find a more functional and attractive Android smartphone. Everything here already rests on the ideology: do you want to use the Google mobile platform or iOS nevertheless closer. Plus, you can always opt for the proven iPhone XR.
