Apple today, November 1, launched the Apple TV + video streaming service. It is available in 107 countries around the world.

Apple offers viewing of its own original content. Roughly speaking, this is a kind of Netflix analogue.

At launch, Apple is offering eight shows on its video service, both for families, kids and adults alike. This is the Morning Show drama starring Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell:

Where is it available?

The geography of distribution is very strange. For example, Apple TV + definitely works in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. In Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, for some reason, the service is not available.

What’s with the voice acting?

There is no Russian or Ukrainian voice acting. But there are subtitles. Someone may not like it, but that’s just how I look.

There are several voices available: Spanish (a couple of options for different regions), Italian, Portuguese, German and Japanese. Moreover, the Japanese voice acting is the worst in terms of the work of a sound engineer – there is just a voice at the microphone without looking at the premises. And this is dubbing, that is, the original English track is not heard at all.

How much?

In Russia – 199 rubles. Price in the USA and Ukraine – $ 4,99. In the Republic of Belarus – $ 5,99. Strange pricing.

Moreover, there is a trial period of seven days. However, if you bought a new iPhone, iPod, iPad, Mac or Apple TV after September 10, 2019, your trial period will increase to one year. For example, I signed up, and the money will be written off only on October 31, 2020. Sounds interesting!

But subscribers wrote to us that the annual subscription is available even on those devices that were purchased at the end of last year. In general, this question is not very clear.

If for some reason you do not have a free annual period, then write to Apple support, not us. You probably do not have the latest version of your operating system.

Why so cheap?

Because only Apple Originals content is available. If on Netflix you can watch, for example, the TV series “Friends”, filmed, of course, not Netflix, then Apple TV +, except for these eight shows, has nothing.

Just eight shows?

At the moment, yes. The company promises to replenish the media library every month. Three more series are announced, a certain Oprah Winfrey show, as well as a documentary series “Little America”.
