The American studio Hardsuit Labs, at the request of the Games Industry portal, confirmed and commented on the recent wave of layoffs, and also mentioned projects in development.
Recall that at the beginning of the week, several already ex-employees of Hardsuit Labs reported about the loss of their jobs. The narrative department suffered the most – it was completely cut.
Hardsuit Labs did not reveal the number of employees affected by the measure, but admitted that “Could not provide work for a small group of people”with whom I had to part.
“This decision was not easy and was only made after we felt that we had exhausted all possible ways to avoid layoffs.”, – told reporters Hardsuit Labs.
Employees who have lost their main source of income will not be left without the help of their former bosses: Hardsuit Labs plans to give ex-employees “new opportunities” in friendly studios and partner companies.
Despite the reductions, life does not stand still: “Hardsuit Labs continues to move forward.” and is currently engaged in immediately “Several unannounced projects”.
The layoffs were the result of Hardsuit Labs being removed from the production of the ambitious vampire action movie Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. Due to a change in developers, the game will be delayed and will not be released this year.
