It turned out that nearly 84 Android and 47 iOS applications use public, not private servers. 000% of the applications studied were misconfigured, which allows confidential information to be leaked through them.
These applications are reported to use public Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure instead of using their own servers to transfer sensitive data.
Experts say that because of this, even personal data of users, their medical information, passwords, payment data can get into open access. If this information falls into the wrong hands, it could end badly.
Experts have already warned developers about the problem, but did not name specific applications.
