The Games Industry portal has shared information on sales of retail editions of games in the UK from February 28 to March 6, 2021. The week was especially successful for projects with the participation of Mario.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury retained its top spot (for the fourth time in a row) despite an 18 percent drop in sales. Other games about the famous plumber have been on the rise.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe moved up from rank six to four in a week (+7%), the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection rose from 13th to sixth (+36%), and Super Mario Odyssey rose from 17th to 13th. yu (+ 5%).
The Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which stands out against the background of its franchise mates, (a double-digit increase in sales) in Games Industry is associated with the imminent withdrawal of the project from sale, which Nintendo recalled last week.
Meanwhile, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales remained in second place (although it lost 19% to its previous result), and The Last of Us Part II dropped from third to 11th.
Recent releases were even less fortunate: Persona 5 Strikers, which debuted in the top five a week earlier, dropped out of the charts altogether, and Bravely Default II fell from 11th to 33rd place.
But Yakuza returned to the top 40: Like a Dragon. Crime action thriller Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is in 35th place thanks to the recently released version for the PlayStation 5.
