Hyperstrange and Paranoid Interactive have announced the Frozenheim city-building simulator set in an ancient Scandinavian setting. The game will feature real-time tactical battles and settlement construction, as well as “Multifaceted” village management mechanics.
Frozenheim is set in the time of the Vikings. After your people have been expelled from their native lands, you set off in search of a new home. With winter approaching, you have to build a settlement that will give people warmth, food and protection.
In Frozenheim, players will need to build a small village and then gradually expand it into a wealthy and defended city. To do this, you will have to competently manage resources, pump skills and distribute work between people (hunting, fishing, farming), depending on the season. In addition, the game will provide several paths of development: to make raids and go on expeditions, complete tasks, as well as visit ancient shrines for the blessing of the gods.
Frozenheim will be released on Steam Early Access on May 20, 2021. At first, the game will only have single-player scenarios (prologues to the main campaign), free mode and basic multiplayer functions. The full release of the project is scheduled for early 2022.
