META Publishing has announced the launch of Pancake Week, the first Eastern European festival in Steam history. The action is timed to coincide with the beginning of the Maslenitsa celebration.
Steam and META Publishing Pancake Week, as the name suggests, will last exactly seven days. The festival will end on March 15 this year at 9:00 Moscow time.
As part of the Pancake Week, a sale is also taking place, in which 216 games from more than 60 development studios from the CIS countries take part, including 1C Company, Buka Entertainment, Owlcat Games and Alawar. The selection also includes projects from Daedalic Entertainment and Deep Silver.
For ease of navigation, the participating projects on the promotion page are divided into categories and genres. In addition, the organizers of the festival decided to draw attention to the games that have not yet been released.
Among other things, on the promotion page you can find instructions for making pancakes “From grandmother” in real life. Despite the Eastern European focus, the recipe is only available in English.
“The most typical Shrovetide dish is thin pancakes or pancakes. So we decided to call our festival Pancake Week so you can enjoy pancakes, play games and stay cool! “ – the organizers explained.
As for the more traditional Steam festivals, the next one is planned to be held from June 16 to 22 this year. As part of such events, users of the service are provided with access to hundreds of temporary demos of projects that have not yet been released.
