Today, the publication Autoevolution, citing documents from the US Patent Office, spoke about a new Apple patent that could be used in the upcoming electric car. This technology will help make the new product stand out from the competition.
The principle of the patent is to use multiple infrared headlights to operate the night vision system and the autopilot. It is noted that such a complex of illuminators can illuminate objects at a distance of 200 meters. In this way, the vehicle’s on-board systems will be able to detect hazards earlier and therefore make better decisions to prevent the risk of an accident.
The complex will include visible light, near-infrared (NIR) and long-wavelength (LWIR) sensors to extend the range of visibility. It is not a fact that this technology will reach Apple’s mass-produced electric vehicles. But this once again confirms that the Cupertino-based company is actively working on finding solutions and developing new technologies for future novelties.
Authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the company’s electric car will not be released until 2025, so it will still have to wait a long time before the implementation of all these patents.
