Merge Games and Italian Games Factory have unveiled Haunted Space, a sci-fi horror simulation for the current generation of PCs and consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S). The exact release date has not yet been reported (on the Steam page, only “soon”), but a trailer has been released.

Haunted Space promises customizable flight simulations and a captivating storyline with many adventures and space battles. The player as a raider, a servant of the human empire, will have to explore the world, engage in dynamic battles, trade, build ships and engage in intense multi-stage boss battles.

According to the plot, in the distant future, human civilization reached the distant Neteran galaxy and discovered powerful energy, which was called sound matter. Millions of settlers came to mine this most valuable resource, but people soon discovered that they were not alone in this galaxy.

The player can complete tasks in various star systems or become an independent traveler. You will have to fight, explore the Neteran galaxy, collect resources and credits, trade, create items, modify the ship. And, of course, strive to survive in order to discover the secrets of the galaxy where an ancient civilization lives. Available in third-person or first-person views.

The Neteran Galaxy is full of monuments and relics left behind by an ancient civilization. The ghosts of its representatives still have not left this place, so you will have to make an effort to cope with the supernatural threat and defeat huge bosses consisting of organic matter and space debris. The creators admitted that they drew inspiration from dark and strange heavy metal songs and the 2000 AD comic.

Haunted Space features real-time ray-traced lighting effects, support for eye-tracking controls, and the ability to play the game in simulator or arcade mode. Moreover, the maximum level of autopilot allows even blind people or players with visual impairments to enjoy the passage.
