MegaFon was the first among Russian mobile operators to adopt the Cyber Intelligence Platform system: this solution is designed to combat mobile fraud and prevent theft of funds from subscribers’ accounts.
The system collects information about all modern sources of network attacks on mobile users. Special algorithms automatically analyze streams of network events and identify numbers that are under the threat of theft of funds or information.
The platform is based on big data analytics. The system detects suspicious use of mobile commerce and payments services, which makes it possible to identify possible attacks in advance.
«In particular, algorithms record the spread of links to malware, and the platform identifies infected devices based on the suspicious nature of user behavior and monitors access to phishing resources.“, – MegaFon notes.
Within the framework of the platform, a set of tools for online services has been implemented. The system is capable of detecting unscrupulous users who use SIM cards for mass automated registration for fraudulent transactions.
Moreover, the solution makes it possible to identify specific mobile wallets and subscriber numbers involved in suspicious financial transactions.
«The information is updated as new threats are detected, so companies can quickly contact their customers or employees, warn them of potential danger. When receiving information about a threat against a client, banks have the opportunity to suspend a suspicious transaction and contact the client for additional confirmation“, – adds the operator.
