Confidential information about Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is constantly leaking on the Web, and now several sources have told about the next part of the famous series of shooters. The game is allegedly developed by the studio Sledgehammer Games, and the action (at least partially) will unfold during the Second World War.
According to the portal ModernWarzone, which first announced the participation of Sledgehammer Games, the working title of the game is Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard. It may eventually become final by analogy with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – the name of the sub-series and the subtitle.
The resource also said that the action of at least part of the new Call of Duty takes place in the 50s. Given that World War II ended in 1945, Sledgehammer Games is expected to expand its historical reach to also include the Korean War, which lasted from 1950 to 1953.
ModernWarzone also believes that Sledgehammer Games could show an alternate story in which World War II lasted longer. In addition, Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard is rumored to be fully integrated with Call of Duty: Warzone.
