SpaceX launches 60 more Starlink satellites – for the fourth time in March

Today at 11:28 am, SpaceX, using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle, launched another batch of 60 communications satellites as part of the Starlink 22 mission from the SLC-40 complex at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The company has clearly picked up a good start pace, as we are talking about the fourth launch of Starlink this month.

The first stage of the Falcon 9 used in this mission was previously used in five launches. After separation, the main stage was successfully landed on the Of Course I Still Love You unmanned barge in the Atlantic Ocean. All 60 satellites separated from the upper stage about an hour after launch. Payload fairings were also in use before.

Earlier this month, there were already three Starlink missions: March 4, March 11, and March 14. During the previous one, a record was set for the return of the same first stage to Earth: this procedure was carried out for the first time nine times. Let’s remind: before overhaul, the stage must work out 10 launches, and the total life time laid down by engineers theoretically reaches 100 missions.

Starlink customers in Better Than Nothing beta are currently purchasing a kit that includes a phased array dish antenna and Wi-Fi router for wireless satellite internet connectivity. In the US, the starter kit costs $ 500 with a monthly subscription fee of $ 100, but the program is already operating in many countries. SpaceX is set to build a Starlink plant in Texas, as well as deploy satellite services by the end of the year in 25 countries. The company also recently applied to provide satellite internet access for moving objects.
