Team Group has announced the creation of DDR5 (Double-Data-Rate Five) memory modules that provide overclocking capability. This is one of the first such solutions in the industry.
The products are planned to be offered under the T-Force brand. Samples of the modules have already been provided to the leading motherboard manufacturers – ASUS, ASRock, MSI and GIGABYTE. They will be able to test the memory for compatibility with their products and assess the overclocking potential.
It is noted that compared to previous generations, DDR5 memory offers more overclocking options. In particular, the supply voltage can be up to 2,6 V or more.
Team Group emphasizes that consumers will be able to be confident in the compatibility of the new T-Force DDR5 modules with motherboards from the four named manufacturers. However, nothing has been reported about the timing of the memory.
We add that earlier Team Group announced the development of DDR5 U-DIMM modules for desktops and DDR5 SO-DIMM for laptops. These products operate at a frequency of 4800 MHz with a supply voltage of 1,1 V. The modules have a capacity of 16 GB.
