Square Enix has announced the release of the remaster of the Japanese RPG Final Fantasy VIII on iOS and Android. The project is sold at a price of 1590 rubles both in the App Store and on Google Play.
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered was previously released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. This is an updated version of the original JRPG, which was released on February 11, 1999. The plot of the game tells about the war of the Republic of Galbadia against other peoples of the world. Squall and the other members of the elite squad of mercenaries SeeD are united by a girl named Rinoa to fight against tyrannical rule and prevent the spellcaster Edea from reaching her ultimate goal.
The game features the Drawing mechanic, which replaces the usual mana: heroes need to extract spells in battle to use them on the spot or save for later. In addition, the remaster included such auxiliary functions as speeding up the game by three times, turning off random encounters with enemies and helping in battle (replenishing lives, filling the ATB meter and activating a special strike at any time).
