The asteroid Apophis was discovered in 2004. Scientists have calculated that in 2029 the asteroid will fly so close to the Earth that it may even collide with the planet. A little later, this possibility was denied. Scientists expected Apophis to approach the Earth in 2036 and 2068.
Apophis recently flew past Earth (but not close enough). Scientists were able to observe the celestial body well. As a result, they came to the conclusion that Apophis’s trajectory will not allow him to collide with Earth in 2068 and for at least the next 100 years. That is, the asteroid was recognized as harmless.
