The founder of Hazelight Studios, Josef Fares, became famous among the players, not least thanks to his speech at The Game Awards 2017. During his speech, the developer sent the Oscars to hell, and the phrase F * ck the Oscars became the reason for many jokes. As it turns out, It Takes Two, a fresh co-op action game from Hazelight, contains a reference to a meme that has become a meme.
The Easter egg was discovered by Geoff Keighley, founder and host of The Game Awards. In a personal microblog, he wrote: “A very familiar moment surfaced in It Takes Two as a reference. What an incredibly fun game with insanely varied gameplay and it handles very well. ”
Kayleigh attached a short video from It Takes Two to the publication, in which one of the two main characters stands near a semblance of a microphone, and a fragment from the speech of Yousef Fares at The Game Awards 2017 with the famous phrase sounds in the background.
The head of Hazelight Studios reacted to Kaylee’s post: the developer laughed and said that he did not expect such a quick discovery of the reference.
Recall, It Takes Two was released on March 26, 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S.
