Mushkin has announced the high-performance Gamma solid state drives designed for gaming-grade PCs and notebooks.
The products are made in the M.2 2280 format using 3D NAND flash memory microchips and a Phison PS5018-E18 controller. For data exchange, the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface (NVMe 1.3 specification) is used.
The series is represented by models with a capacity of 1 and 2 TB. In the younger version, the sequential read speed reaches 7150 MB / s, the sequential write speed is 5600 MB / s. IOPS (input / output operations per second) for random reading and random writing of data in blocks of 4 KB – up to 360 and up to 000.
The 2 TB modification is capable of reading information at speeds up to 7175 MB / s and writing at speeds up to 6800 MB / s. The value of IOPS for reading and writing reaches 640 and 000, respectively.
Supports hardware encryption of data using the AES algorithm with a key length of 128/256 bits. MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) is 1,6 million hours. The devices have dimensions 22 × 80 × 3,8 mm, weight – 7 g.
Unfortunately, there is no information about the estimated price of Mushkin Gamma drives.
