Last year, a few months after the launch of the flagship Galaxy S20 series, Samsung introduced the more affordable Galaxy S20 Fan Edition. The device was based on the flagship platform Samsung Exynos 990, and later came a model with Snapdragon 865. Now the company is preparing to introduce another version of the smartphone.
It is reported that the fresh Galaxy S20 FE will become even more affordable. This can be achieved by excluding the 5G modem from the design. However, the Snapdragon 865 will remain at the heart of the device, making the new Galaxy S20 FE a good choice for users in countries where 5G networks have not yet been deployed, as they no longer have to overpay for an unnecessary option.
Other specifications are expected to remain unchanged. Recall that the original S20 FE boasts a 6,5-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of permanent memory. The main camera is represented by two 12-megapixel and one 8-megapixel sensors, which offers 3x optical zoom.
The new smartphone is supposed to run Android 11 out of the box. The device has already been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, but its launch date and estimated cost are still unknown.
