Strategy Analytics has released February statistics on the global smartphone market: South Korean giant Samsung was able to regain the palm, pushing Apple into second place.
Last month, according to estimates, the shipments of Samsung devices amounted to about 24 million units, which corresponds to a 23,1% share in the total shipments. For comparison: in January, Samsung’s share was only 15,6%.
Apple, which was in the lead at the end of January with 25,4%, is now on the second line with the result of about 22,2%. In February, the Apple company sold approximately 23 million iPhones.
The third place was taken by the Chinese Xiaomi, which managed to occupy 11,5% of the global market. Next come Vivo and OPPO with a score of 10,6% and 8,5%, respectively.
It is important to note that Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei, whose smartphone business has suffered huge losses due to sanctions from the United States, did not enter the top five.
It is not yet clear who will become the leader of the global smartphone market at the end of the current quarter: Samsung and Apple are claiming first place, the competition between which has intensified.
