Starz has reported that the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel American Gods will not receive a fourth season. The final episode aired on March 21st.
At Starz we are grateful to the dedicated cast and crew, as well as our partners in Fremantle, who brought to life the current story of author and executive producer Neil Gaiman, which speaks of the cultural heritage of our country.
The finale of the third season hints at a sequel – it is possible that the channel will launch a television film. The media believe that, given the constantly falling ratings, this is not the best idea.
In addition, the reluctance to continue the project is associated with constant production problems. For example, between the first and second seasons, there was a conflict related to the budget of the series, which led to a change in showrunners.
It is reported that during the work on the project, the series “American Gods” left several actors, including Orlando Jones.
