Traditionally, gift registries would feature key household items the happy couple would need upon setting up their first home together. However nowadays, gifts go far beyond sheets, spoons and the classic blender as couples are often already cohabiting by the time they walk down the aisle.
Given that the Coronavirus pandemic has seen the last couple of years spent at home, now is the perfect time to treat the newlyweds to something a little more special.
If you’re a bride or groom-to-be, wondering why you should create a gift list, then it’s worth noting it’s for solely selfish reasons (in a good way, of course!). A gift registry makes it easy for your guests to pick something they know you actually want; they’ll be safe in the knowledge that they’re not buying you something that five other guests at your wedding have also bought you.
Even if you haven’t got time to pop to the store to make your wish list, many places offer the choice of creating one online so you don’t have to miss out.

- Try to pick things that will be useful in your joint future and make sure you both love every piece.
- Don’t be shy when making a long list. Pick plenty of products at a range of prices so your friends and family have lots to choose from.
- If there are a few products which are very expensive but which you really love, then pick a registry that allows for group gifting. This way more than one guest can club together to buy you the high ticket item.
