Adam Schiff, head of the US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee, is convinced that US President Joe Biden will visit Ukraine as soon as possible.
Biden will visit Ukraine, but when exactly is not reported.
He spoke about this in an interview with CNN in the context of a conversation about a meeting of representatives of the US Congress with President Vladimir Zelensky.
“I think the president’s visit is being considered. The only question is how soon it will be possible,” he said.
The meeting with Zelensky, he said, will be devoted to further US assistance to Ukraine in the new phase of the war, in particular, on the supply of long-range artillery. He noted that members of the delegation passed this information on to President Biden.
“We discussed in detail the next phase of the war. It is moving from Ukrainians ambushing Russian tanks to fighting at a distance using long-range artillery, and this is changing the nature of what Ukraine needs for defense,” Schiff said.
Earlier, the Biden administration sent Congress a request for additional $33 billion in funding to support Ukraine.
