Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov visited the front line in eastern Ukraine, in particular, the city of Izyum, Kharkiv region.
However, he managed to leave before the AFU attacked the positions of the invaders.
This is reported by the New York Times, citing Ukrainian and American high-ranking officials.
On the evening of April 30, the Ukrainian military attacked a school in Izyum, which the Russians use as a military base. According to officials, Gerasimov visited the base, but managed to leave Izyum before the Ukrainian attack began.
Earlier, Aleksey Arestovich, an adviser to the head of the presidential office, said that enemy troops had not been advancing on the territory of Ukraine for several days from the territory of the Russian Federation. The Russian occupying troops stopped overturning forces in the Izyum direction.
“The amount of beaten equipment is knocking back. The wounded go and take out the dead. There are a lot of people killed, because only in the last three days there have already been confirmed results of the strike, a strike on Pervomaisky in the Kharkov region, two strikes on Izyum – the headquarters of the Airborne Forces. Even according to the lower limit, we count – 100 corpses in one place, 200 – in another, and at least 100 – in the third. The upper limit is called both 200 and 300 each. You must understand that these are senior officers among them. Two army headquarters,” he said.
