Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov spoke about Ukraine’s security guarantees and documents that Kyiv can sign with Moscow.
According to him, the discussion of Ukraine’s security guarantees with other states of the world may begin in the near future. However, Danilov is sure that Ukraine should rely only on itself – on its weapons and society.
He said this on May 2 on the air of the United News telethon.
“With Russia, we can only sign its capitulation. And the sooner they do this, the more benefit it will be for their country,” Danilov said.
According to him, the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine is not easy. In world history, this was the last time in 1943, when the foreign ministers of Great Britain, the USA, the USSR and China gathered in Moscow. Then they discussed the post-war device.
Today, this process has not yet begun for Ukraine, but this may change very soon.
At the same time, Danilov himself is convinced that Ukraine should rely only on itself.
“As for the situation directly related to guarantees for our country, as a citizen and patriot, I can say that our guarantees, our conscious society, should be put in the first place. Our military, everyone who is involved in the security and defense sector, in the second place. And the third place is our weapon. These are our guarantees,” Danilov emphasized.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council recalled that previous agreements with the Russian Federation turned out to be ineffective – Putin occupied Crimea and part of the Donbass.
“We already had signatures on guarantees with the Russian Federation, with other countries. We all saw how it all ended: we lost Crimea, we lost part of the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. And now we have a big war going on. I am in these guarantees, Of course, I would like to believe. I think this issue needs to be dealt with,” Danilov said.
According to him, a strong country is the most powerful guarantee that we can give today.
“If we don’t have this, any guarantees will not work, because then no one will fulfill guarantees for the weak,” Danilov emphasized.
Recall, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said when a turning point in the war could come , and Ukraine would be able to go on the offensive.
