The Russian invaders destroyed one of the best educational institutions in the Luhansk region and Ukraine.
Lisichansk gymnasium burned to the ground. Yesterday, as a result of targeted shelling, a fire started in the gymnasium. It burned for several hours. The fire completely destroyed more than a hundred-year-old architectural monument.
This was announced by the head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai.
“It was built over 100 years ago by the Belgians. It was one of the top 100 best schools in the country. It withstood two world wars and a battle for the city in 2014, but burned down due to animals without valuables in 2022,” emphasized graduate Yana Goncharenko.
It is noted that the school was built at the end of the 19th century, the gymnasium is part of the ensemble of the Belgian architectural heritage of Lisichansk.
“Now it’s ashes. The Russkiy Mir looks like this. After the Victory of Ukraine, we will make every effort to restore the gymnasium,” Gaidai said.
Lysychansk multidisciplinary gymnasium has repeatedly been included in the ranking of the best educational institutions in Ukraine, its graduates have always passed the EIT with high rates and entered the best universities in the country.
Recall that on February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine , inflicting a series of missile and air strikes on our cities, including Kiev. A large-scale invasion has been going on for the 68th day (war of 8 years). The invaders continue to destroy Ukrainian villages, towns and cities with cruise missiles and air bombs, killing the civilian population and causing devastating destruction to the infrastructure.
