Due to the large number of vehicles and people crossing the border due to the Russian war, the authorities decided to unload the checkpoints.
Two new checkpoints will open on the border with Romania in the Chernivtsi region. It is noted that this has become an urgent need.
This was reported in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
International checkpoints “Dyakovtsy” and “Krasnoilsk” began to work in Bukovina across the state border of Ukraine and Romania. By the way, they used to be under reconstruction.
It is envisaged that checkpoints will work as follows:
- BCP “Dyakovtsy”: works for pedestrians, cars and buses, except for freight transport – with a constant mode of operation and around the clock;
- BCP “Krasnoilsk”: works for pedestrian and car traffic up to 3.5 tons, except for freight transport – with a constant mode of operation and working hours from 08:00 to 20:00.
“This will help to further unload traffic across the border. In addition, Ukraine is negotiating with our European neighbors to launch common checkpoints and jointly carry out customs control, which will further speed up the process of customs clearance,” its head Denys Shmihal said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
By the way, last year it was envisaged that the reconstruction of “Dyakovtsy” would cost UAH 173.2 million, and “Krasnoilskaya” – UAH 166.7 million.
As reported, since the beginning of hostilities, citizens of Ukraine could cross the borders of many European countries without a Green Card policy. From April 28, the policy is required at the time of entry into Poland.
