The Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine denied the fake spread by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu about improving life in Mariupol.
The CPD recalled that a few days after the public statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin instructing not to storm the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, Shoigu said that the city was allegedly establishing a peaceful life, and they were constantly trying to negotiate with the Ukrainian military on evacuation.
This is stated in the message of the JRC on May 4.
” In fact, the assault did not stop for a day, and the shelling of artillery was replaced by attempts by the Rashists to enter the territory of Azovstal,” the report says.
“Shoigu, like Putin, continues to broadcast disinformation to the whole world to justify his “special operation”, while they themselves hope for the easing of sanctions or support for Ukraine,” the Center added.
Recall, as of the evening of May 4, Russian invaders broke into the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
