The UN Security Council will discuss the identified cases of sexual violence by the Russian occupiers.
First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar met with UN Under-Secretary-General – Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten as part of her visit to Kyiv.

The interlocutors condemned the atrocities of the Russian occupation forces in the territories temporarily not controlled by Ukraine, especially the crimes of sexual violence committed by the Russian military in Bucha, Irpen and other cities and villages of Ukraine.
“The leadership of Ukraine calls on the international community to continue active work to jointly counter Russian propaganda and conduct a proper investigation of Russian crimes of war,” said Emine Dzhaparova.
The Special Representative said that she would address the UN Security Council on identified cases of sexual violence by the Russian occupiers, and also informed about the preparation of the annual report of the UN Secretary General, which would pay special attention to the crimes of sexual violence in Ukraine.
Emina Dzhaparova thanked Pramila Patten for her clear position in supporting Ukraine in the fight against the Russian aggressor and her solidarity with the people of our state.
“Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have begun investigating more than 9,000 war crimes committed since February 24, 2022 by servicemen of the armed forces and other military formations of Russia on the territory of Ukraine. Russia has already claimed the lives of more than 3,800 civilians in Ukraine and injured more than 4,000. At the same time, facts of torture and sexual violence have been established,” Emine Dzhaparova emphasized.
The First Deputy Minister congratulated the signing during the visit of a framework document on cooperation with the Government of Ukraine in preventing and responding to sexual violence during the conflict, focused on countering the consequences of war crimes of Russian troops in Ukraine.
Pramilla Patten stressed that she could not stand aside from the suffering of the Ukrainian people and hopes for fruitful and active cooperation within the framework of agreements to provide effective support to Ukraine.
