Hundreds of Ukrainian refugees have camped near Mexico City, where they are waiting for the US government to allow them to enter the country. Every day, from 50 to 100 people arrive at the camp opened a week ago.
To date, there are about 500 people in the camp for Ukrainian refugees .

According to the publication, some Ukrainian refugees visited the US border in Tijuana. There, people were told that they would no longer be accepted. Also, a number of people arrived at the camp as tourists through the airports of Mexico City or Cancun. In total, about 10 thousand Ukrainians arrived in Tijuana seeking asylum in the United States.
It is noted that the US authorities do not advise Ukrainians to go to Mexico in order to get to the United States from there. Indeed, from April 25, all citizens of Ukraine who do not have a US visa and who will try to enter the country through the border with Mexico without prior travel permission will be denied entry.
Recall that since April 25, the Uniting for Ukraine program has been launched for those fleeing the war in Ukraine.
In addition, about 60,000 Ukrainian citizens who were in the US as of April 11 can apply for Temporary Protected Status (temporary protection status), which allows them to stay in the US for 18 months.
