Japan will provide Ukraine with $300 million in financial assistance.
Earlier, Japan has already announced and even started to provide Ukraine with $200 million in humanitarian aid.
This was stated by Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori at an international donor conference in support of Ukraine.
“About humanitarian aid. We have already promised and started to provide $200 million. Secondly, regarding direct budget assistance, economic and financial support to Ukraine, we have promised and will soon provide $300 million to the Ukrainian government,” Kuninori said.
According to him, Tokyo calls on all governments for the opportunity to join in the restoration of Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about the governments of Asian countries, which were addressed by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi. Japanese diplomats ask Ukraine mainly for financial assistance and sanctions against Russia.
Recall that the Government of Japan decided to introduce an additional package of sanctions against the Russian Federation due to the war unleashed by the Kremlin in Ukraine. The assets of 140 people have been frozen.
