On Thursday, May 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held an online meeting with the 43rd President of the United States of America, George W. Bush.
During the conversation, the 43rd President of the United States expressed support for Volodymyr Zelensky and the entire Ukrainian people in the fight against the aggressor. Also, the former head of America noted the stability of Zelensky and Ukraine during the confrontation with the invaders.
This was reported by the press service of the President’s Office.
“Your courage is very important for your continued success. If you continue to do what you do, you will always have our support if you continue to fight as you do now. Your country has been invaded by those forces that want to kill innocent people” . And the fact that you stand firm inspires Americans,” George W. Bush said.
In turn, Zelensky stressed that the entire Ukrainian people are experiencing real help and sincere support from the United States. “Americans are frank, open people, and I feel it. We have common values. I feel that this is from the heart,” the head of state said.
“Our conversation is important to me, because you are an example of a strong leader,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said and invited George W. Bush to visit Ukraine at a convenient time for him.
Recall that Zelensky also invited German President Steinmeier to visit Ukraine during a telephone conversation. However, it is not yet known whether Steinmeier is ready to go to Kyiv and when this may happen.
