Almost two-thirds of EU citizens support the financing of purchases and supplies of weapons and equipment to Ukraine.
At the same time, the figures differ between EU member states. Thus, the citizens of Finland support most of all arms deliveries (90%), and the lowest figure is in Bulgaria and Cyprus (30-31%).
This is evidenced by the results of the Flash Eurobarometer poll.
Consequently, 67% of those surveyed approve of the purchase and supply of military equipment to Ukraine, including 33% fully approve and 34% tend to approve such a decision.
It should be noted that in Finland (90%), Estonia (87%), Poland (86%), Lithuania (84%) and Portugal (83%), more than eight out of ten respondents approve of this event. At the same time, only 30-31% of citizens in Bulgaria and Cyprus think so.
In addition, in all countries the rate of support for the provision of humanitarian assistance to people affected by war is 90% or even higher. Despite this, the lowest mark is in Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia (all 90%). At the same time, the highest is in Malta (99%) and Portugal (98%).
Concerning the approval of the admission to the EU of people fleeing the war. This figure ranges from 75% in Bulgaria and 77% in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to 95% in Croatia, Finland and Malta and 96% in Portugal.
Financial support for Ukraine is more controversial in some countries. While the majority of respondents support this in all EU member states, approval of financial assistance to Ukraine ranges from 55% in Bulgaria to 92% in Finland, Malta and Portugal.
