French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson discussed coordinating action to support Ukraine.
This is reported by the Elysee Palace after a telephone conversation between Macron and Johnson.
The leaders of the two countries discussed mainly the topic of Russian aggression in Ukraine. They agreed to maintain close coordination in order to provide effective and coordinated support to Kyiv in military, humanitarian, economic and political aspects. They will be able to take part together in a video conference of G7 leaders organized this Sunday, May 8, on this topic, ”the message says.
The heads of state also discussed bilateral relations between France and the UK.
Recall that on May 3, Macron spoke for the first time with Russian President Vladimir Putin after a month-long break and after re-election to the presidency. The French leader called on the Russian dictator to allow the evacuation of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, where civilians and wounded soldiers still remain, to continue.
