The German company TeamViewer, which develops software for remote access, has announced its exit from the Russian and Belarusian markets.
The decision is connected with the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The company announced this on its website .
“TeamViewer supports Ukraine and withdraws from Russia/Belarus. We are deeply shocked by Russia’s horrific attack on Ukraine. As a global company, TeamViewer upholds the universal values of freedom and democracy and we condemn any form of violence and aggression. As this war continually aggravates and severely violates our values , we have decided to completely stop any business activity in Russia and Belarus,” the message says.
In addition to complying with all international sanctions and the immediate termination of new business, TeamViewer will also not renew any contracts with customers from Russia or Belarus. Existing non-sanctioned subscriptions that do not involve misuse of our products will continue until the end of the contract, but will not be renewed after that.
At the same time, for companies from Ukraine, TeamViewer now offers its products for free. Moreover, the company has donated more than 750,000 euros to Red Cross organizations to provide humanitarian assistance on the ground.
Recall that on February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine , inflicting a series of missile and air strikes on our cities, including Kiev. A large-scale invasion has been going on for the 72nd day (war of 8 years). The invaders continue to destroy Ukrainian villages, towns and cities with cruise missiles and air bombs, killing the civilian population and causing devastating destruction to the infrastructure.
In response to Russian aggression, a number of countries, including the United States, Canada, Great Britain, the EU, Japan, and others, have imposed unprecedented economic and personal sanctions against Moscow . And hundreds of international companies refused to work in Russia or cooperate with the country and its citizens, supply their products and services there.
