A painting by famous Ukrainian artist Maria Primachenko was sold for $500,000.
The auction was arranged by the charitable foundation of Sergei Prytula. For the proceeds, 125 beads for the Ukrainian military will be purchased.
This wasannounced on Friday, May 6, by TV presenter and philanthropist Serhiy Prytula on his Facebook page.
“The painting “Flowers grew near the fourth block” was sold for 500 thousand dollars. A precedent record for Ukrainian art. We have already talked about a certain symbolism of the event: the Russians deliberately destroyed the Primachenko Museum in Ivankovo. And now get an answer, creatures,” wrote Shelter.
According to him, the proceeds will be used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“125 Volkswagen T5 buses for the front line, which will carry personnel, cargo that will be used for evacuation, for the work of aerial reconnaissance units, etc. All in order to burn the Russians and save ours!” Prytula noted.
The painting was donated to the Sergei Prytula Foundation by a collector, so the benefactors decided to put it up for auction.
“Volunteer-driver of the headquarters of the Serhiy Prytula Foundation, and in civilian life collector Igor Ponamarchuk, together with his wife Daria Dobrian, presented the Foundation with a painting from the family collection. The family of Maria Prymachenko supported the charity auction and refused royalties on the sale of the painting in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the charity foundation said . Sergei Pritula.
This lot was bought for 500 thousand dollars by two people from abroad. According to Prytula, the new owners of the painting assured that it would remain in Ukraine and that it would be transferred to one of the Kyiv museums.
“Let’s once again rejoice that we are beginning to recognize and realize the true value of Ukrainian art. Art that helps protect our freedom,” Prytula added.
Recall that in the village of Ivankov in the Kiev region on February 27, a fierce battle took place , during which the Russian invaders destroyed the local historical and local history museum, where about two and a half dozen works by the world-famous artist Maria Primachenko were stored. For some time it was believed that the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian artist burned down, but it turned out that he and his wife were saved from the fire by the museum’s caretaker.
