The WHO Director General arrived on a working visit to Ukraine. He intends to evaluate how support from the organization can be increased.
Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus arrived on a working visit to Ukraine.
“Arrived in Ukraine. As a child of war, I know how children and adults trapped in this war feel. I want to appreciate how WHO can increase our support for them,” he wrote on Twitter .
According to him, he will meet with WHO staff in Ukraine, who are doing tremendous work in extremely difficult conditions.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization next week will consider a resolution condemning Russia because of the war unleashed by the Kremlin in Ukraine. This document may contain a decision to close a large WHO regional office in Moscow.
