Fires broke out in more than 16 settlements of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on Saturday. The wind speed in the region reached 40 meters per second in gusts, spreading the fire. According to the Investigative Committee, five people died.
The regional Ministry of Health reported 17 victims. 11 people are hospitalized. The state of emergency has been declared in the region.
As reported, in different areas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the fire engulfed residential buildings, garden cooperatives, kindergartens and paramedical stations. Most of the victims of the fires are placed with relatives.
According to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, at 22:00 local time, 484 buildings in 13 municipalities suffered from fires.
The greatest amount of destruction occurs in Uyarsky, where about 50 buildings caught fire, as well as Dzerzhinsky, Rybinsk and Bolshemurtinsky districts.
“In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the fire situation has stabilized. All fires are localized. Firefighting continues in 13 municipal districts of the Territory,” the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said on Saturday evening.
Earlier, Rosleskhoz reported that 350 houses burned down in the settlements of the region due to short circuits at substations and power lines.
On the facts of the death of five people as a result of fires in the villages of Nikolsk and the village of Talazhanka, the main investigative department of the ICR for the region and the Republic of Khakassia opened two criminal cases.
On Sunday night, the chairman of the committee on health protection and social policy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, I. Zaitsev, shared in Telegram the results of the night operational headquarters on the situation in the region, which was held by the Governor of the Territory Alexander Uss:
- Around-the-clock duty is organized in the regions of the region to assess the situation.
- As of 22:00, there are no threats to the settlements of the region, but there is a risk of resumption of fires.
- Employees of the energy companies of the region will work all night, where power lines and substations were disrupted.
