President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky summed up the meeting of the leaders of the G7 states, in which he took part together with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The head of state called for increased sanctions pressure on the aggressor country.
Zelensky stated this during a traditional video message on May 8.
“Ukraine for the first time became a participant in the meeting of the leaders of the G7 states, the world’s largest democrats. He outlined our vision of what should be done for the victory, freedom and security of Ukraine. He called for increasing sanctions pressure on Russia and creating such conditions for Ukraine to war ended as soon as possible with the liberation of our land, our people. In particular, this concerns the embargo on Russian oil, oil mixtures and oil products. I offered advanced states, our friends to take part in the restoration of Ukraine after the war,” he said.
The President also added that at this meeting he felt the readiness of the world to help Ukraine.
“We waited together for a joint statement of the Group of Seven regarding the war, global threats created by Russia and our respect for the common historical heritage, our common values, our freedom. The statement is in the best interests of Ukraine and will become our basis for further cooperation. And most importantly, what I felt today – it is the willingness of the world to help us, and the fact that we have already achieved a historic result, because it is clear to the entire free world that Ukraine is the side of good in this war, while Russia is losing, because evil always loses,” Zelensky added.
Recall that the “Big Seven” declared full assistance to Ukraine , condemned Russia’s aggression and promised to abandon its oil.
