The British Ministry of Defense believes that Putin greatly underestimated the resistance of the Ukrainian troops, which led to the failure of his army on the battlefield.
Russia’s underestimation of Ukrainian resistance and its “best-case” planning led to apparent operational setbacks, preventing Russian President Vladimir Putin from announcing a significant military success in Ukraine at the May 9 parade.
This is reported by the British Ministry of Defense.
The Russian invasion plan was most likely based on the mistaken assumption that it would meet limited resistance and be able to quickly cordon off and bypass populated areas.
It is noted that the assumption led the Russian troops to try to conduct the initial phase of the operation with an easy approach, designed to achieve an early victory with minimal losses.
And this miscalculation led to unbearable losses and a decrease in the operational focus of Russia.
Recall that the Ukrainian military has already destroyed 26,000 Russian soldiers.
