Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar explained that the department behaves with restraint in predicting a war with Russia due to the fact that any statements can negatively affect, namely, correct the actions of the enemy.
In addition, the situation in the war is changing daily, so it is incorrect to say what will happen in a week or three.
Malyar spoke about this in an interview with LB.
“Now I will also be restrained, because any word of mine will be perceived as the official position of the department, including our enemy, who uses every information, including from open sources, to correct,” the deputy minister said.
She clarified that it does not even matter what answer the Ministry of Defense can give regarding the development of certain events at the front. The enemy will be able to use any information.
“When we are constantly asked, demanded: tell me why they didn’t send help to a certain unit in a certain region? It doesn’t matter what answer we give. “Everything is going well. If we say: no, wait a minute, help is coming, for them it means that they have not worked out where there is a channel through which help is coming,” Malyar explained.
The same applies to military strategy, because any response from the Ministry of Defense will mean that there is some kind of plan and the occupiers will be able to adjust their actions accordingly.
“It is clear that there is some kind of plan, but this will be taken as a reason to correct their actions. The only thing that can be said for sure here is that this is a very difficult fight, that our Armed Forces sometimes had a situation with a balance of forces of 1 :15 not in our favor – to make it clear at what cost those victories that are, and the deterrence that is. And you know that there are temporarily occupied territories now, that is, not everything is so simple, “said the deputy minister.
“And every day the situation changes. Therefore, it is incorrect to say what will happen in a week, in three. If someone tells you exactly what will happen, it is incompetent,” Malyar emphasized.
Recall, earlier on May 11, the Ministry of Internal Affairs called it unlikely that the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko could order his troops to launch a ground operation on the territory of Ukraine.
