The war unleashed by Russia will end when Ukraine returns its territories, people, peace, freedom and the right to choose. It is important that Russia sit down at the negotiating table and understand the inevitability of punishment and the great fallacy of its steps.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during an online communication with students of French universities.

“The war will end for the Ukrainian people only when we return what is ours. It’s true. I say frankly: we don’t need too much… We want to return peace to our state, to our land,” he said.

He said that Ukrainians want to return their land, people, freedom and the right to choose.

According to the head of state, Russia in turn took away, occupied all the rights of Ukraine: the right to land, the right to choose.

“In the end, we came to the right to live,” the president said, adding that now “we are fighting for our lives – losing our lives.”

At the same time, Zelensky noted the importance of Russia sitting down at the negotiating table and, in his words, “understood the inevitability of punishment and the great fallacy of its steps.

He explained that it should be a dialogue, not ultimatums.

“For the sake of peace in Ukraine, we are ready to communicate so that it is not too late, because with each Bucha, with each Mariupol, with each such step, a city where there are dozens of burials, rapes and suffering, with each such step, the possibilities and desires for diplomatic solution to this issue is lost,” Zelensky concluded.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Ukrainians not to spread panic about the situation at the front. The head of state stressed that our defenders are doing everything possible to liberate the occupied territories, but there is no need to demand “daily victories” from them.
