On May 12, the Polish police begin a nationwide campaign “Unprotected road users”. First of all, they will check whether drivers comply with the rules in relation to pedestrians, cyclists, users of two-wheeled vehicles. Increased patrols are expected at pedestrian crossings, near bicycle routes, in places where there are a lot of two-wheeled vehicles.
Fines in the amount of PLN 1,500 or UAH 10,200 will have to be paid for such offenses, according to finance.ua .
- Failure to provide a way for a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing or entry to it.
- The driver of a vehicle returning to a cross road did not give way to a pedestrian crossing the road at the intersection to which he is leaving.
- A pedestrian is not given a way when crossing a sidewalk or footpath or when driving in a square where pedestrian and vehicle traffic occurs on the same surface.
- The road is not provided to pedestrians when reversing.
- The road was not provided to pedestrians by the driver of the vehicle in the microdistrict.
- If the driver did not stop the vehicle so that a person with a disability or a person with limited physical abilities could cross the road at a special sign.
- In case of overtaking a vehicle at a pedestrian crossing.
- Overtaking a vehicle moving in the same direction but stopped to give way to a pedestrian.
- Violation of the ban on driving along the sidewalk or pedestrian crossing.
- Violation of the obligation to stop the vehicle in such a place and for such a time as to ensure free access for pedestrians to public transport vehicles – in the absence of an island for passengers at the stop.
