Finland’s accession to NATO will threaten Russia, as the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance makes the continent unstable.

“Certainly. The next expansion of NATO does not make our continent more stable and secure,” he told reporters.
He also said that Russia will conduct a special analysis after Finland joins NATO in order to develop the necessary measures to ensure security.
“If you remember, there is an instruction from the current President and Commander-in-Chief to develop a list of measures to strengthen our western flanks in connection with the strengthening of NATO’s eastern flank. NATO is moving in our direction. Therefore, of course, all this will become elements for a special analysis and development of the necessary measures to to balance the situation and ensure our security,” Peskov said.
Recall that in a joint address, President Sauli Niinostiio and Prime Minister Sanna Marin announced Finland’s intention to join NATO.
“Finland must urgently apply for NATO membership. We hope that the national steps still needed to achieve this solution will be quickly taken in the coming days,” the statement said.
Recall, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Medvedev, said that Moscow would deploy nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles in Kaliningrad , a Russian enclave in the center of Europe, if Sweden and Finland join NATO.
