In the video, filmed by doctors, as if the usual everyday life in the maternity ward – a woman in labor is having contractions, but the girl is born in a shelter, and outside there are continuous explosions. This is a video from the besieged Chernihiv, which Russian troops bombed from the sky and around the perimeter for 38 days. During the shelling, women gave birth in a shelter, and when they were not bombed, on the first floor of the hospital, because the upper ones were already without windows.

Stefania Ekaterina Kuzmenko is one of almost one and a half hundred children born in besieged Chernihiv. The staff, as best they could, reassured the women in labor. When the Russian troops smashed the city communications to the ground, the kids were wrapped up in a cold shelter as best they could. Women were consoled by the fact that more girls were born. “To victory,” they assured.
